Reintroduction 2.0: Evolving

Welcome back! Before diving into the Final Task I wanted to share a few tidbits about my life. Various things have happened throughout my music video along with the short break I took. Life has been busy. I mean “…the carousel never stops turning” as Ellis Grey says in Grey's Anatomy! Can you tell I’ve had time to catch up on a few shows?

My current binge-watching go-to is Desperate Housewives. I enjoy this show on a superficial level but also a cinematic level given my developing Media Studies knowledge. Now, I am more of a show person over watching movies which is why I haven't watched that many films recently. Despite that, Desperate Housewives is a great source of inspiration for the upcoming Movie Opening Sequence - Final Task. I enjoy the voice of a narrator, the mix of many thought-evoking scenes, a sense of mystery, and the use of music as a rhetorical device.

This project is an opportunity to evolve from my previous skills. I am hoping to improve my work serving as a director and enhance my editing process. I would like to make this project a piece of work I can confidently say I am proud of. Now this is a big task to accomplish given my intermediate skill set. Reminding myself about where I started and how much I have soaked up in this time gives me a slight sigh of relief. Along with my nerdy side, I used qualitative data on neuroplasticity to ease my anxiety regarding the Final Task.

Gearing towards my personal life, this has been an action-filled couple of weeks. I’ve experienced many failures and successes. My failures catalyzed learning. But, I’m still choosing to share my successes here today.

In school, I have been working continuously with my co-founders to get the Girl Up club started. It’s been time-consuming running around to admin during our limited lunch breaks. Despite that, I am very happy with the progress the respective co-founders and I have made. As for the other clubs I am part of, everything has been going to plan accordingly. In fact, in Interact Club I have been chosen to be 1 of the 10 Junior Counselors for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards linked with Rotary International. I attended this conference last year and to be part of this year in a different way is going to be very special. I hope I can make an impact on my group as much as my Junior Counselor did!

Of course, during this process school work piled up along with many assessments. Luckily, Fall Break came in no time. I took this time to sit back and relax, especially since I was experiencing burnout. Break always feels like it goes too fast and it did this time around too. Nonetheless, I loved spending time with friends and family. Over break, I got my nose pierced, went to the fair with my friends (a typical South Florida teen experience), and started a Mendhi (commonly referred to as henna) business! Shoutout to my Instagram page: @henna.by.pk !! As you can tell, it was an eventful break.

In good fashion, below I have a collage of all my favorite moments over this time:

Hope you enjoyed this preliminary statement. The Final Task will be a long journey but I am optimistic positive results will be yielded. Till next time!
