That’s A Wrap!
Hi everyone! Editing is in full take. I have been working on making final edits. After going through all the clips I have condensed down the video significantly and I was left with a good backbone to work off of. The main goal of the editing process for me now was to 1) cut down the time significantly and 2) add inserts of additional videos and pictures to make a cohesive video. Like I said previously, I am basing this style of video on TikTok. On TikTok, there is a feature called “Green Screen” where you can show pictures in the background or insert a picture and talk about it. My idea with including inserts was to achieve this same effect that the “Green Screen” effect gives off. Since TikTok is mainly to entertain but it's a very casual social media I wanted my version of inserts to be slightly more elevated but still very casual. Overall, I created a very casual yet clean video. I will not lie, the whole editing process did start to get tedious. Though I thought it wouldn't, it was still enjoyable but not as enjoyable when it comes down to cutting out seconds from clips. It honestly took me a long time to edit. I am definitely a perfectionist so I think that’s partly why I am taking so long.
It took me a little over 3 hours overall to get the video to how I want it to be. During the process I took tons of breaks though. I changed my editing location a lot to have a change of scenery which helped me also look at the video differently. I worked in a coffee shop, by the pool, at Big Buns Damn Good Burgers shop, and of course in my bedroom at my desk. At my desk I always have a candle burning, right now I got Pink Lavender & Espresso from Bath and Body Works and it smells divine.I also usually have a study snack. Today I was eating McDonalds. I think professional editors would approve of my editing snack. Sometimes a couple of fries and some sweet and sour sauce motivate you to keep pushing through editing! What is your go-to McDonald’s order? Maybe I will try it for my next editing sesh! In the end, the various location changes and hours of editing were worth it. I am really excited to share the end product with you guys! Getting to see the end product come to life was super rewarding. I hope you guys enjoyed getting to learn about my editing process.
