The One-Person Group
Hello! I’m going back to the basics with this project and embarking solo!
Though working with Janiah Charles was a pleasure, I’ve revealed to myself I work more efficiently when placed by myself. For this reason, I thought it was best to work alone especially when considering the big task at hand.
Quite honestly, I feel at peace working alone. Some may view it as “extra” but for me, it is control over my decisions. I enjoy the companionship of team members and influx of opinions but I enjoy being able to make the final choices even more.
Moreover, working with peers who also act as friends socially can increase the complexity of certain situations. Simple conversations about a technical issue with the project naturally extend to playful chit-chat. Don’t get me wrong, I love yapping with friends. But, this project is extensive and for me to give it my full attention I need to be working alone.
I’m aware working solo won’t solve all my problems. Janiah was a great team member who was phenomenal at storyboarding and acting. It will be difficult to make up for the fields she excelled in.
Nonetheless, I haven’t forgotten about my friends. I plan on using them in the Final Task project as actors if it is an appropriate casting.
At this point, I’ve assessed all the “pros” and “cons” of working with a group and alone to make a well-informed decision. Without further subduing, I have pacified the idea of working as a group. I am ready to perpetrate this project unaccompanied. Wish me luck on this journey!
